PROJECT OVERVIEWNewcastle Attic Conversion
Before the clients moved into their new home in Newcastle, Co. Dublin, they wanted to make full use of the attic space.
We were brought in to complete a full attic conversion, creating an additional room that felt like it had always been part of the house. From the structural work through to insulation, roof windows and plasterboarding, everything was completed before handover, leaving the home ready for its final finishes.
Our Approach
The key to any attic conversion is getting the structure right first.
Structural steel was installed on both sides and allowed this us to start cutting the roof trusses to form the attic space. Once that was complete, we moved straight into first fix electrics, spray foam insulation, Velux window installation and insulated plasterboard.
Because each stage was planned before work began, every trade could move seamlessly onto the next, keeping the project progressing without unnecessary downtime.
Key Details
Attic conversion completed under 2 weeks, ahead of the clients moving in.
Three Velux roof windows installed to maximise natural light.
Spray foam insulation throughout along with insulated plasterboard fitted to walls and ceilings for excellent thermal performance.
Space prepared for second fix and final decoration.
Result
A previously unused attic is now a bright, fully insulated room that feels like a natural extension of the home.
By completing the conversion before the clients moved in, they avoided the disruption of carrying out structural work down the line and were able to make the most of every square metre from the day they got the keys.
